To use a pen name or not?

To use a pen name or not? What do you all think out there? As those of you who know me know already, I'm using a pen name for my stories, which has been a bit of an internal struggle for me. Will it compromise my truth to write under an assumed name? It does feel a little weird when I see my stories headed with my pen name. Husband wants to use a nom de plume, following in the grand literary tradition. And also I guess not wanting to be completely exposed on the worldwide web for everyone to see. I have to admit, I don't feel so vulnerable, but Samuel Clemens I'm not.

Although, technically, my pen name is actually two of my four names, they're just not the names I'm known by. It's as if Helena Bonham Carter's middle name was Regina, so she goes by the pen name Regina Carter. My pen name doesn't feel like me, but it is undeniably a part of me. So to those of you who know me, well, you know who I am. And those of you who don't, it's still me, it's just not my official name. But everything I tell you is true; pertinent facts about my family, my life and who I am. My existential crises, the (almost) daily struggle to retain my sanity. You know, the usual stuff, walking right on the edge, as many of us do.

So let's enjoy the ride and see where it takes us!
